Chinua Achebe was born on the 16th November 1930, Ogidi.He was a Nigerian novelist, poet, professor, and critic. Raised by his parents in the Igbo town of Ogidi in southeastern Nigeria, Achebe excelled at school and won a scholarship to study medicine, but changed his studies to English literature at University College (now the University of Ibadan).
He became fascinated with world religions and traditional African cultures, and began writing stories as a university student. After graduation, he worked for the Nigerian Broadcasting Service (NBS) and soon moved to the metropolis of Lagos. He gained worldwide attention for his novel Things Fall Apart in the late 1950s has been translated into more than 50 languages. It is studied worldwide in Language, Literature, History and Anthropology. 'Things Fall Apart' was on the Time magazines' list of 100 Best English-language Novels from 1923 to 2005.

(2)He discovered the beauty of language which makes him a man of value rather than a man of success.
(3)He teaches life amidst different life of our own.
(4)He gave an insight into the discovery of life and purpose.
(5)He propagated the richness of African culture, values,norms and its entirety to the world.
(6)It teaches specialty and uniqueness of human being.
(7)He gave in everything he believed in and which was evident in his ways of life.
(8)He was very sure of his gift from God and pursue them to the very last end.
(9)He was not deeply involved in too many things except this gift of writing.
(10)He developed a system that make things work judiciously.
