The igbo's have the spirit of conquerors. They are usually moved by the quest for success. At times other tribes feel we don't love ourselves but that is not the case. The major three tribes in Nigeria have a narrowed interest. The hausa man is more focused in politics.

While the yorubas enjoy partying (jolly good fellow) and acquiring good grades
While the igbo's can always generate great ideas that can move any business to any level

Though these interest can differ depending on an individual. But an average igbo man, learned or not, has a craving for creativity that can produce money. We go to school to acquire knowledge that can give us more money and this started way long when we were treated as the minority clan.

We needed survival, we weren't given enough lands to plant. We weren't given access to top positions in the country. We weren't allowed to enjoy the benefits of the country and even the very resource close to our doorstep (oil) we were denied of it.And in the long run we figured out that to enjoy these benefits, we have to buy our way through. An average igbo man has no room for begging. When you walk the streets of our country Nigeria, the so called minority clan can't be found anywhere begging, we would rather hawk to get water in dignity.

Here are our qualities

Wherever you see a man or woman who we make homes where there are no homes (there's this popular road on Benin expressway used to be known as the robbers den of those days. Then no vehicle plies that road without fear, after years of been dreaded, some group of igbos started settling there to do some petty businesses, and gradually there is booming and is now called a market)

We do not relent. The igbo's never give up. We always work hard and today it has gained us a lot of relevance.

We appreciate life. We believe in living for tomorrow holds a lot of dream we wish to accomplish. We do not accept a senseless death (dying for no just course) suicide is never an option. Check cases of suicides ranging from suicide bombings down to taking of sniper ( we don't consider that but only few does)

The average igbo man works and shows you the way rather than giving you money, we work, train our people and settle them to be like us. That is where the name "boyy" came from.

These days too, we no longer do just business. We study business and make the best out of it.Family is everything to us.  We work to make us proud.

An adage says that if you travel to anyplace in the world and you don't find an igbo man. There is no cause it's not worth living in.We dispersed from home to tap from nature's blessings and come back home to make our family proud.

Someone once said on Twitter that why are the igbo's rejecting ruga why they occupy every city of Nigeria and then the reply came this way

"The government did not give any of them a portion of land freely, they worked hard to aquire these portions of lands and built empires on them.  The fulanis  roaming the streets of the igbo's go there to beg freely on our lands. We don't enjoy free food so don't come up with idea of the igbo's being in every part of nigeria, they  worked their way through. The fulanis should come and work and we will sell our lands to them not the government stealing the little portion we have in the name of ruga".

That very reply said it all.

Physically, the igbo's are recognized by their light skin.A bit of flat head (compared to other tribes). Then we have our intonation too, just like other tribes.I can't say it all about the igbo's. But wherever you see that hard working fellow that says I will rather earn that get it free, that's an igbo man.
